Kooweerup Who's Who
Public Profile

My work is centred around connection and real life rather than overly posed images. I love photographing the atmosphere of a space, the people in it, the details you might otherwise miss and those in between moments that tell the bigger story.
I work with small businesses, creatives, community organisations and local people across the Northern Rivers, Gold Coast and Brisbane photographing:
• Branding and lifestyle sessions
• Retreats, workshops and courses
• Community events and gatherings
• Birthdays, celebrations and private events
• Live music, gigs and performances
• Venue and hospitality events
• Small business and creative projects
• Personal branding and behind the scenes content
• Community organisations and local initiatives
• Lifestyle and at home sessions
I’m particularly drawn to projects that have a sense of place, personality or community behind them. Whether it’s a small workshop in a beautiful space, a local event bringing people together, a musician playing to a crowd or a business wanting photographs that actually feel like the people behind it, I’m there to capture the experience as it unfolds.
I also offer relaxed lifestyle sessions for families and individuals who prefer something natural and comfortable, whether that’s at home, somewhere meaningful or simply doing something you genuinely enjoy together.
Based in the Northern Rivers and always happy to connect with good people doing good things locally.

Distinguished and Famous people from Kooweerup
🌟 Carlo Catani
Engineer Carlo Catani was closely involved in the transformation of the Koo Wee Rup Swamp into farmland. His work linked drainage engineering with a village settlement scheme introduced in 1894, in which unemployed married men received small blocks while working on the drainage project. The scale of that intervention changed both livelihoods and the wetland landscape. Catani’s local significance lies in the schemes he helped implement, not a local birthplace. The nearby town named Catani is another reminder of a professional career that left marks across Victoria.
🌟 William Thwaites
William Thwaites supplied an earlier engineering contribution to the Koo Wee Rup drainage scheme. As a Public Works Department engineer, he recommended draining the swamp in 1888 as a means of encouraging closer settlement. The subsequent works were not a single man’s achievement: plans, construction, labour and settlement policy involved several people and institutions over time. Remembering Thwaites alongside Catani makes that sequence clearer. His connection is through a specific proposal affecting the district, one whose agricultural benefits also came with the lasting alteration of a large wetland.
